Purrsuit is operated by Boycat Inc. (“we”, “our”). This policy describes how we handle data on this site. By using the site you accept this policy. If anything here conflicts with the way the site actually behaves, the policy wins - file a bug.
Purrsuit is a public research site. When you load a page, your browser fetches data from our servers. Standard request metadata (IP address, user-agent, timestamp) is processed transiently to serve the response; we do not store or analyse it ourselves. Filing links go out to FEC.gov and IRS.gov; we don't intercept the click.
If you submit a tip via the /tips form, we store the tip body, optional subject reference, optional source URL, and optional contact email in our database. We do not log your IP address. A hardened anonymous intake channel is on the roadmap. See /tips for the current status.
If you submit the /corrections form, we receive the brand/figure name, the correction text, an optional source URL, and an optional reply-to email. We don't publish your email; we only use it to follow up if a reviewer needs more context.
Some sections of the site reference Boycat membership features. Those are not wired in production yet. When they ship, this policy will be updated before the feature goes live to describe exactly what each system stores.
Tips and corrections are stored in our database until reviewed and resolved, then deleted within 12 months of resolution. Support messages submitted via /contact are retained in our ticketing system for up to 12 months after the ticket is closed.
Under applicable law (CCPA, GDPR), you have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold and to request its deletion. Email legal@boycat.io with enough detail to identify your submission. We respond within 30 days.
Material changes to this policy are versioned and dated. The changelog is published on boycat.io/privacy-policy. Non-material changes (typo fixes, formatting) ship unannounced.
